Biography

I am a freelance lighting designer and technician based in London. I have designed for theatre, opera, circus and children’s theatre.

I studied Technical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2011. I previously obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Drama & Theatre Studies with French at University College Cork, graduating in 2009.

In June 2012, I lit the opera Pagliacci at the Cork Everyman Palace as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival. Pagliacci won the Irish Times Irish Theatre Award for Best Opera Production 2012.

In 2015 I was the lighting lab associate for Nuffield Theatre, Southampton, in their Laboratory scheme. As part of my year I assisted lighting designer Paul Keogan on the Hudsucker Proxy both in Southampton and its transfer to the Liverpool Playhouse. Working with the lab creative associates we had a great time exploring and developing a showing of Juicy & Delicious which was staged at the Nuffield in November, 2015.

I have lit shows for the Tricycle Theatre Kilburn, Mountview Academy, and for the National Theatre's learning department. Dead Don't Floss was the winning entry in the National's New Views playwrighting competition and was given a full production in the Dorfman Theatre (July 2017) with a professional cast and directed by Roy Alexander Weise.

Please feel free to check out my portfolio for examples of my recent work. If you would like to see a current CV, please contact me via the contact section.

I am an associate member of the Association of Lighting Designers.
